I cannot believe this day has already come...really...cannot believe it!!! the only justification i am giving is that she got her first tooth so early (4 months)....therefore she is losing her first tooth early. I WANT MY LITTLE GIRL BACK!!!!!!!!!!

the tooth fairy came and gave samantha two dollars...samantha was very excited and did not hesitate when she opened it she said, 'i'm going to put one under stephanie's pillow so she can have a dollar too'!!! how sweet is that??!! who's kid is this??!?!!! you'll see, stephanie is a little more excited about this whole tooth ordeal than samantha!!! I STILL WANT MY LITTLE GIRL BACK!!!

Star Student of the Month!!!

Samantha has been voted, by all the teachers in the school, as the STAR Student for the month of December...but celebrated throughout the month of January!! There is one student picked for each grade. She gets her picture on the school bulletin board and a cookie!! Just a little proud of my 4-K girl!!!

Thought this was the most adorable thing...actually made me a little weepy!! Proud mom, i guess! Samantha fell asleep on the couch, and Stephanie took her own blanket (which is a huge deal, they are very possessive of their own blankets!!) and covered her up. The cutest, and I'm glad i had my Flip Video handy!! was she kept fixing the blanket and then leaned over and gave her a kiss!!! then went back to making sure the blanket was on just right! a couple minutes later, post video, she went up to the couch, and pulled her blanket off of Samantha and went and to sleep herself!! not really sure how samantha slept through the hole thing...but she did!! i kept expecting her to wake up and kick stephanie right off the couch!!

Makin' Christmas Cookies!

We take Christmas cookies very serious around here. The process takes about 3 days...and nights! We start at Aunt Nini's house making Peanut Butter cookies with kisses and little PB cups. We had to unwrap thousands of kisses...not sure what "thousands" is, but i know it was alot. Then we go to Aunt Terrie's house where we meet up with Aunt Tami, Tanya, Leah, and Grandma Karen. We spend all day makin', bakin', and decoratin'!! Tasting the frosting was the best part! Not sure who tasted more cookies...Stephanie or Papa, but we still had plenty! We had cookies for weeks! I know this post is a little late, but mommy has been playing with her new Flip video camera and learning how to edit...Love this song by George Strait...Enjoy!

Santa Came to Our House!

Visit with Santa

I woke up this morning with a purpose...i wanted to see Santa today. I told my mommy we needed to go see Santa...she reluctantly agreed. i was so excited! i was going to tell him i wanted a baby rascal dog (little black lab) that barks, and two barbies. We finally got to the mall where he was at and stood in line for a couple of minutes. Then i'm not sure what happened, but i turned totally shy and scared to death. stephanie was fine until she saw me crying...then she started to cry too. anyway, here's our time with Santa...enjoy. ps - dont blink because it doesnt last very long!

Family Traditions

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. We started with family pictures...and then went to dinner. We went to my Uncle Jim's Sister's house and all of our families were there. I'm still not quite sure what it was all about, but there were alot of people and tons of food. It was so much fun. Then Friday I asked Daddy if we were getting a Christmas tree and he said yes, lets go get one. So we went and picked one out and brought it home! On Saturday, Mommy said she wanted to make a gingerbread house...she said something about doing it every year at this time. sounds like fun to me...and you know stephanie, if foods involved...she's all in! Then we decorated our stockings because mommy said she wanted us all to have one with our name on it...that was fun too...it took a very long time for them to dry, but once they did...Mommy was so happy with them. We hung them up. Now that the tree is up, i said we needed to go get the presents...but Daddy said something about Santa...not sure who he is, but hey, if he's got presents...he can come! Then today we went to Sunday School and started practicing for the Christmas play...i get to be a cow...or a sheep. Then as we were leaving Sunday School...it started to snow! Mommy said we are supposed to get 6-10 inches!! All weekend, Mommy said family traditions are important...and i agree...we've had so much fun this weekend...lets do it again next weekend!

First Snow!!

IT SNOWED LAST NIGHT!!! I was so excited when mommy woke me up and took me to the window!! I asked if i could put on my "new" snow pants and she said YES!! She bundled us all up, stephanie was not as excited about it as i was...she doesnt like shoes (let alone boots), coats, hats, basically everything you need now that it is cold outside. We went outside and i jumped right in the snow...stephanie analyzed it all...i made a snow angel...stephanie was still thinking about it...i started to make a snow man...stephanie....still processing it all...finally mommy put her down in the snow, but she wasnt too excited about it! I was able to make a snowman at the babysitter's house and at my house! Then i was mad because mommy wouldnt let me bring the snow into the house. we have pictures and some videos, but mommy is trying to figure out how download it all from her "new" phone.

Hunters Prayer Service

We had this really fun night at church this week...Pastor Steve called it "Hunters Prayer Service." We all had to wear bright orange and camo...Mommy took us to the store and bought us "new deer" shirts and i got a "new" hat like Uncle Jim's!! I am so proud of my deer shirt and hat. i want to go on another trip with Uncle Jim and find more deer!

I went to the dentist today...she fixed my two front teeth! Mommy says i look beautiful...when i first looked in the mirror, i said i think i look like sponge bob! Mommy said nooooooo waaaayyyy! However i look, i'm so glad it is over! All i want for Christmas is my two front teeth!! but mommy says it will be a couple years before my new ones come in...so in the mean time...the most beautiful sponge bob it is!

I'm not exactly sure what Stephanie thought she was doing...but she kept doing this...getting onto the edge of the couch...balancing...bending over...sticking her hands behind her (as if she was getting ready to dive) and then taking off! She has incredible balance for a 18month old...cant wait to get her into gymnastics! Not quite the calming down, before bedtime, soothing activity we usual do...but for tonight...we hope it works.... i call it the, "jump until you drop" method!

Here's the video I have been working on for my dad for his birthday...it was fun talking to him about the "good ole" days...and the "not so good ole" days. Dad had a twin...Janet...They were best friends. She somehow ended up with Polio while he was away serving our country. Uncle Sam sent him home but he arrived too late. He wasn't allowed to return to duty since he was the only child left in the family. Mom passed away the same day Janet did...only 60 years later. He's had quite the life. Love the song. Love the old photos. Love my dad! Enjoy!

Squirrel House

We have squirrels. Lots of squirrels. I enjoy watching them. We feed them. We name them. We try to catch them. We love squirrels. Well, apparently, they built a big next in daddy's tool shed. Not a good idea. The roof started cracking and they were "making deposits" on daddy's tools, lawn mower, and snow blower...another idea not thought out very well on their part. Well...Daddy tore down the squirrel nest, fixed his tool shed roof, and said, "It is good." We were upset. Mommy tried to explain to him the joys of the day brought on by the squirrel family. Daddy began to feel guilty (really, he did!) and went online and downloaded plans for a squirrel house. He took out some scrap wood, made some measurements, made some cuts and then I got to help him put it together! It was so much fun! Then, the best part, was watching daddy climb up the tree and attach the squirrel house to the tree! He went up really high! Then he jumped down!! What a Dad! Now we are on "Squirrel Watch" to see if they find the house and actually decide to move in. Winter is coming and there's not much time. We put peanuts all around to see if they can find it. We'll keep you posted!

Today is my papa's birthday. We have so much fun with him. My favorite activity is to help him fill the bird feeders every week. He likes to roll around on the floor with us...and he likes to swing in the swing and watch for deer. Thats alot of fun too!We had a birthday party for him yesterday. I not excited about the fact that he is going to florida for awhile...he said it gets too cold for him here! We'll talk to him on SKYPE as often as we can! We love you Papa!!

I love to jump. I jump all the time. I jump on the floor, i jump on the bed, i jump off the couch...i'm just a regular jumping bean!! Stephanie wants to do whatever I do...and she really wants to jump. She tries every day to jump...she never quite gets off the ground. Tonight, however, she actually got airborne! We were so excited...and she was a little shocked herself! We tried to re-create the jump where she actually caught some air...but it didnt quite happen! Enjoy!

Picture Perfect

Well....Mommy went camera crazy today!! She said it was a Picture Perfect Day...so away we went! She said we may have one or two good ones out of the whole bunch!! Stephanie couldnt sit still, i got tired of smiling, we wanted to play in the water more than look at the camera....and i just could not find my "new" Willy (the whale) in the water. I looked, and looked, and looked. Then we went to the woods to try to find a "new" buddy (caterpillar) as my old "new" buddy died last night. It was a beautiful day and overall, we had fun! Crazy Day!

Well, yesterday was a crazy day! it started out as any normal day around here...eating, drinking, playing, going potty, school work...the usual. Then mommy had this bright idea of taking us to McDonalds for a treat so we could play. I love McDonalds...its my "new favorite." I'm not sure why everything is "new" now, but it is. I just like saying "new." I got in trouble in Sunday School when i was talking to the teacher about my "new" daddy. I dont have a "new" daddy, i just like saying "new" before everything! Except not daddy. Mommy said i cant say that anymore! Anyway...we were playing at McDonalds and stephanie couldnt get up to one of the slides, so my friend was helping her by pulling on her arm...and well...we all know what happens when we pull on Stephanie's arm...Yep...back to the hospital. I had to stay in this room with this nice lady while Stephanie had some X-Rays taken...but it wasnt broke...just back out of joint. The Doctor showed mommy how to twist Stephanie's elbow so she could put it back in joint herself. Mommy said, "Probably not"! Then as we were leaving the Doctor, we found a fuzzy caterpillar crawling in the parking garage! Mommy picked it up and let it crawl on her arm and shoulder the whole way home! I was so excited! I had a "new Buddy"!! We made a nice box for it and gave it leaves and sticks and stuff. It even stayed there all night long! Mommy said today we had to find a jar for Buddy...whatever that is....I hope its a "new" one!

We carved pumpkins today...the ones my uncle jim and aunt nini got me from the pumpkin farm we went to this past weekend. I had soooooo much fun! I also decided to show off a little bit and jump off my bed! I do this alot and my mommy says, "you're gonna get hurt." But i dont. Yellow #5

Well after much testing and process of elimination...we have discovered that Stephanie is allergic to "Yellow #5". Which, in case you are all wondering, is in Ritz Crackers and Code Red Mountain Dew! Yes...yellow is in Code Red! The process has been very interesting, but glad it is over! When her body becomes covered in hives within minutes...its a little scary!! Pictured is Stephanie's back at the Allergy Clinic getting tested for 25 food ingredients...one of which was soy, which was our first thought. But after the little dot #16 didnt turn into a big dot, we knew it wasnt that. Have you ever tried keeping a one year old on her belly for 20 minutes???!!! Not fun! But as you can see, we drew all over the paper on the doctor's check-up table! Keep an eye out for Yellow #5!

Well, i must say, having a new neighbor - a boy - has already taught me so much! Mom says its been so long since she's been around boys she forgot just how different they are! they dont use the fence gate, they jump over the fence. They dont sit on the swing, they stand on it. Everything is part of an obstacle course. No walking...always running or jumping. Its funny to watch. Mom said she knows now why she had girls...although she always thought she'd have boys! Mom actually let me go into his backyard the other day...which is about 30 feet from our backyard. She wouldnt let me out of her sight...stephanie was mad she couldnt come over too. i guess this is how it will always be...i can do things she wont be able to do...i told her she might as well get used to it now. she kept crying...and so did mom! I just stand around and watch.

New Neighbors

Well...moms freakin' out because we have new neighbors. I guess thats not the part that has her jumping the walls. I think its the part that they have three little boys...and maybe that parts not so bad...it may be more the part that the oldest boy, Gaven - age 6, and his younger brother, Eli - age 4, keep coming to the door and asking for me. "Can Samantha come out and play." A simple request in my book...however, mom seems to have issues with this. She keeps saying that its not supposed to happen for YEARS! Something about keeping me hidden in the basement. Sounds scary to me. Not sure what the big deal is...all we do is ride bikes, play basketball, play in the sand box...only in our backyard. I asked if I could go to his yard and she keeps saying "not today" and running back in the house...she's really having a difficult time with this. i think its fun having new neighbors! And what are boys anyway?!

Stephanie now has a big bed! We both went from a basket, to a crib, to a big bed! Aunt Nini (Laurene) came over and we moved things around and decorated our room up. It looks so cool! I just love it! We also got some new princess shoes. Stephanie wouldn't let go of the cupboard for along time before she took off walking in the "high" heels! It was a fun week! Enjoy watching us, "In our room." Today is our Daddy's birthday! We got him up extra early and gave him the cards we made. He was so happy about that! Then mommy made him a nice breakfast. Then when he left for work we made him a cake! it was so much fun! Mommy says we are going to meet him for lunch and take him his cake! We're usually in bed when he comes home from work, so we have to celebrate on the road! What a week this has been! We've all been sick with colds...mommy has been very sick and she went to the dentist today and they totally knocked her out, so Papa is staying with her...and us...for awhile. We cleaned out the turtle tank on Saturday and I was supposed to be watching the turtles, and i forgot...so little Ann got away...we couldnt find her for two hours! Then mommy finally found her under a bunch of chords behind the tv. I wasnt scared, but mommy sure seemed to be upset about it. I knew she would come back. Anyway...here we are coloring with Papa...and Stephanie deciding to use the crayons to pick her nose rather than color with them...this will be good as part of her wedding photos!

August - Summer Fun!

First Trip to Emergency Room!

Well...Stephanie made her first trip to the emergency room...and it was sort of my fault. We were our porch and I was in one of the tall chairs and Stephanie wanted up...so I was pulling her arm trying to help, and I guess I pulled too hard. She started screaming and mommy came running. We couldnt find what was wrong, but every time we touched her arm she screamed louder. Mommy was a little upset, but she handled herself okay. We put ice on it and Stephanie calmed down. She would not move her arm. She looked like she was on drugs....which I bet she wished she was! We got to the Dr. (mommy dropped me off at aunt Nini's work) and the Dr. knew just what was wrong. He told mommy to hold Stephanie and he twisted her arm and put her elbow back into joint. She screamed so loud! But after that it was all better. Mommy said if Stephanie needs help getting up that I should call her and not pull her arm so hard. I had fun at Nini's work though!

Pin curls....Maybe not!

Well, mom did it. She tried to curl Stephanie's hair! We didnt have small enough sponge curlers, so she used bobby pins! It looked cute...but as far as the curls go....well....lets just say we went to the store, on our way to church, to buy small sponge curlers! I'm so glad I have natural curls and dont have to go through that! Mom says we better hope and pray they last! Daddy says, "Straight is great" and to just leave it alone!! We'll see what happens next Sunday!

Olympics are here!

Go for the gold! Thats what mommy always says! I love watching the Olympics...especially the gymnastics and the diving in the water. Yesterday we were a part of the Milwaukee Kids Olympics at the Betty Brimm Museum! It was so much fun. We walked in the parade, Stephanie carried the torch, until we got to the stairs, then she couldnt do it anymore! then we played games....it was so much fun! Go USA!

Tribute to what would have been their 54th Wedding Anniversary

Thursday (August 7th) is the date of Papa and Grandma's Wedding Anniversary. It would have been 54 years that they were together. Here is a little video we made for Papa for his "would be" anniversary. There are many photos from the big 50th Anniversary party all my aunts and uncles gave Papa and Grandma. Papa loved the video when we showed it to him. I was glad to see Grandma again. I told Papa it would be okay and he didnt have to cry. He was happy to see Grandma too. We have to keep showing Stephanie pictures of Grandma so she can remember her too. The songs are by Papa and Grandma's favorite singer....Conway Twitty!

We "got around" in July! We went to the Betty Brimm Children's Museum with Aunt Laurene. They have so many interactive things for us to do...it was alot of fun! Then we went to Toys R Us and spent the money Uncle Roci gave us. It was very hard picking out our favorite toys. Mommy said she's not going back there for awhile! Then we went to the zoo with Daddy! I think my favorite was the elephant...no maybe the polar bear...no maybe the goats....I dont know! I love them all! Then we finished the very hot month with a trip to the beach with Papa. Mommy said she used to go to this beach all the time when she was a little girl. Its real close to Papa's house. She used to ride her bike there. It felt so good to be in the water! Uncle Roci Came to Visit!

Our Uncle Roci came to visit us for just a short time yesterday! He had a very long lay-over on his way to California so we all had dinner at Uncle Jim and Aunt Nini's house! It was so good to see him. He even gave Stephanie and I some cards that we can take to the toy store and buy toys!! I cant wait to go! Then we had to take him back to the airport and I wanted to go on the airplane with him but mommy said, "not today." Thank you Uncle Roci! We love you!

Alphabet Time

We have started school...with mommy. She tries to make it fun...but I really want to ride the bus and play on a playground...not happening at this school just yet! We are learning a letter a day (or two days)...taking our time. Today we learned about "A". Mommy made these neat papers that we put on the refrigerator...she tried to find what she wanted online, but couldnt, so she decided to make her own. She said she would email them to anyone else that wanted to use them to learn their letters too. Pretty soon i'll be writing my own blog entries!!

Hey everybody! We have been soooo busy this week getting ready for a garage sale. Mommy is selling alot of our toys (which she says we have too many and dont even play with them all!) and alot of our baby clothes. It was very hot today, and she says we have to do it again tomorrow!! At least I get to play with my Cousin Leah! We've been painting signs...and our faces!

4th of July - Busy Day!

As we said before, we had a wonderful weekend with family and friends. On the 4th of July, we started out trying to wake up Papa and Nanny by knocking on the door...then blew some bubbles....then went to a parade...then went to Aunt Ninny's and Uncle Jims for a picnic...then went on the boat (see fishing trip)...and finished the day off with a bang! Thanks to Uncle Jim, we had our very own fireworks show...and we didnt have to fight the crowds! I had alot of fun...and yes, Stephanie is always eating or drinking something! We picked up so much candy from the parade, Mommy says we're set until Halloween!

Our First Fishing Trip!

We did so much this weekend....many posts to come! Here was one of the highlights...our very first fishing trip. We actually went on the boat twice. Once with our Papa and Nanny who were visiting from Oregon. The second time to actually fish, with our Daddy, Mommy, Aunt Laurene, and Uncle Jim. I know I saw Willy in the water...He needed me...I kept calling him, but he never came to the boat. Oh well. Maybe next time! Oh and when you are listening to the song and here it talk about our "cold brew"...rest assured...it was apple juice!

Funny Story!

Chris was in the bathroom combing his hair getting ready for work. The girls and I were fixing his lunch, as usual. Chris yells from the bathroom, "I think my hair is getting more red." And without hesitation, Samantha yells back, "No Daddy, just white." I haven't laughed so hard in quite awhile!!!

A cute story, that must be shared with all!! Today I picked up Samantha from VBS and having asked the teacher this morning what the lesson was about, I knew just what questions to ask.
So I said, "Did you learn about Peter today?"
Samantha replied, "Yes!"
"What did Peter do?"
She said, "Um, he walked on the water." You go girl, I thought to myself!! She's actually learning something. I was so proud.
So I kept asking, "Where did Peter go when he was walking on the water?"
Samantha replied, "Well," pause, "He went to McDonalds"!!
So there you have it...from the Bible Scholar herself! Not sure if it will preach or not, but it sure was cute!

Craft Time

Hi everybody! Here is a little clip of our craft time...today mommy finally let my buy some water color paints. i have been wanting to paint for quite some time, but she said it was too messy. The color on the video is not the best because we do our crafts at the kitchen table and stephanie and i stand in the bay window, so the glare from the sun has washed out the picture. Stephanie doesnt really do a whole lot during craft time except make funny faces and funny noises. sometimes she talks to the birds outside! Enjoy!

Samantha has now decided she no longer wants "bands" (rubber bands) in her hair. Thankfully, her hair is naturally curly...little water...add some mousse...she's cute as always. Stephanie now has enough hair she can start having "bands." Not much...like Samantha's first pony tails (top photo), we just take what we can get. Stephanie's hair is stick straight...any suggestions on what to do the day she decides she no longer wants "bands"?!!!! Pray saints, pray!

We are still in St. Louis having a blast. We've met so many aunts and uncles and grandmas and grandpas...we've been staying at Uncle Tim and Aunt Pat's house. Uncle Tim took me to see some turtles, snakes, fish, bears, deer, and so many things. It was so much fun! Of course, mommy is not taking as many pictures as she should be, so i have nothing to show you...yet! Tomorrow we are going to the Zoo, so she said she will take alot of pictures there! All for now! Papa's House

Yesterday we went to Papa's House!! We love going to his house. There is so much to do....when its warm outside its alot more fun. Yesterday we fed the birds. Here is a little clip that shows what we did. Its definitely not one of our more exciting video clips you will view here on our blog (and excuse mommys head as she tries to figure out just exactly she was videoing!)...but everything seems to just slow down at Papa's house. I'm not sure if it is because Papa moves slower, or because we always relax when go out there, or if its just because it is so beautiful with all the trees, birds chirping, frogs burping, butterflies flying, and all the other neat stuff in the country...at Papa's House!
